Still Going Strong After 6 Years—Just Bought a Second One!

I’ve had my original My Brest Friend nursing stool for over six years, and it’s truly been one of the most useful and comfortable pieces we’ve owned. Now that we’ve added twins to our family, I didn’t even think twice about ordering a second one for the nursery. We now keep one in the master bedroom and one in the nursery, and they both get daily use!The adjustable height settings (three options) make it incredibly versatile and easy to customize for comfort—whether you’re nursing, reading, or just sitting with your feet up. Even outside of the newborn stage, this stool has become a staple in our home. The quality is amazing—it’s sturdy, supportive, and still looks and functions like new after all these years. This stool isn’t just for nursing—it’s something I know we’ll use for many, many years to come. If you’re building out a nursery or just want a solid, comfortable footstool for your home, this is the one. It’s hands down the best we’ve ever owned.

Must have for moms and dads - solid wood and sturdy

The instructions are pretty self explanatory. Package came with all necessary screws and tools and the pieces are solid light wood. The stool has three heights that are positioned with a screw and knob turn, so it doesn’t slide out of the position. The sandpaper grips on the stool make sure your feet don’t slip but you may not like them if you nurse barefoot. The feet of the stool don’t have any grips and may slide on hardwood floor but stay put on carpet.I used this stool first in the hospital and bought it for home - it’s the perfect height for couches and chairs (I tried other house stools and they either didn’t angle or were too tall). Overall, this is a must have as a new mom and even dads would benefit who hold the baby.Once we are past breastfeeding, this will work nicely for the toddlers to use for hand washing.

Not the prettiest, but it's sturdy.

A bit of assembly required, but feels very sturdy. Changing the angle will be a bit an of annoyance, but I'll probably just leave it the way it is most of the time. The sandpaper is kind of ugly and will leave a white dust on it after having bare feet on it- but hey- if you want to file your feet at the same time, I guess that's a plus.Really wish it came in a darker wood. All of my nursery furniture is dark and there was another nursing stool on Amazon I almost got based on looks- but I chose this one in the end because 1. It actually qualified for the 15% off baby registry coupon (hardly anything does...) and 2. It seemed like it would be more sturdy and practical than the "pretty" one.

Decent quality.

No pre drilled holes for the flat head screws. Also, flat head screws are shown as piece L though the inventory only shows only until part K.

Good overall, just need to be careful during assembly phase

We found this stool in our local new-born medical office, we ordered the same model, it looks exactly same. The spacing between little screw holes is a bit mis-aligned, but we managed to tighten all screw with careful alignment of the screws.

The best stool I’ve tried for breast-feeding

I tried another stool for breast-feeding before this one and returned it. This one locks in place whereas the other one just sat on a ridge in the wood and often collapsed and was pretty dangerous. This is much better quality wood and can be used later on not at an angle

Slides on wood floor

Great product, love it! Out of the box it slides on the floor a bit, so get something tacky to keep it in place.

Surprisingly helpful

At first it seemed like a gimmick but it is perfect to use during breastfeeding and bottle feeding. I was finding that I was always flexing my feet and ankles to elevate my lap and started having ankle and foot pain. It’s helped a lot

not sure how we lived without it

I didn't get this till my daughter was almost 1 and we were done with our BF journey but the rocker that I rocked her in daily was just not comfy to lean back in to be able to rock her. I'm almost 6 foot tall but needed some extra space. This was perfect! Can't wait to use in the future to BF other kids. It will be so helpful!

Sturdy and made of real wood

Bought it because it's made of wood. Sturdy, looks nice. It's heavy which can be a plus but sometimes it's hard to move it with just pushing with foot when on the carpet. Not crazy about the sand paper strips on top. Can't wear socks because it catches on the fabric.

Helps so much with nursing!

We had this stool with our first few children, and then lost it in a house fire. We didn’t get a new one because I figured I was an old pro and didn’t need it. I was wrong. So we bought it again, and boy what a difference it makes! In those first few weeks as baby is getting used to latching and you’re trying to find a good nursing position (especially since they take much longer at the beginning since they are less efficient at sucking), this stool is a game changer. If you are having trouble getting comfy or getting them in a good position to latch, this with a good pillow always does the trick for me! And when you’re not nursing, it’s just a comfortable little ottoman. It’s easy to put together and very sturdy. I highly recommend to all nursing mothers!

Great for short moms!

This was easy to put together and made a huge difference for me as a second time mom. Wish I had it for the first one—made sitting in recliner and other chairs much more comfortable for nursing. I picked this one because it was the same as the one in my pediatrician/lactation nurse’s office and it was pretty reasonable. I think I’ll take it to my office to put under my desk when I’m done with it at home!

Great stool for anyone!

I bought this because I have back problems and need the supportI am short and needed a stool that wasn't 10" high. I couldn't find anything under 5" until I saw this! It's heavy duty and solid wood. Requires minor assembly but it is worth it! Perfect for under my desk to keep my knees at a 90 degree angle for optimum circulation and lower back pain. Highly recommend to anyone!

Breastfeeding moms /people with back or hip problems that sit for a long period

This is a great little stool I highly recommend this to anybody that is breastfeeding or anybody that just needs to have a little stool. This would have been perfect for even my father-in-law that had a hip replacement just to elevate your knees a little bit This takes pressure off your back when you're sitting or is even great for when you're trying to rock back and forth We have this and it just slides under our IKEA chair and the nursery and I pull it out when I need to use it to nurse the baby or to help bounce her. I will even say that this will be helpful for crafting when you're sitting in a chair for long period of time I'm short so my legs are shorter and it creates a downward angle but when I need my lap to be flat for certain crafting this will also be helpful. Overall great little stool. It never completely goes flat from what I understand but you could totally use it as a step stool in the bathroom for a little once to brush their teeth as well because of the grips that are on it I'm sure the little angle wouldn't even be that big of a deal when stepping up and down off of it.

Perfect classical guitar player's stool!

I bought this to use as a foot rest for classical guitar playing, and I couldn't be more pleased. When it is set in the middle position, the height and angle are perfect for me. There is a higher and lower position that might fit other players. This stool replaces one of those narrow foot stools that are designed to fold up into a guitar case. They are ok for traveling, but I find them awkward, unstable and uncomfortable. If you don't set your foot on one exactly right, it might flip over. For use at home, where it's not kept in the guitar case, this stool is perfect: wide, stable and comfortable. It is very well made and a great deal at the price! (And you can use it as a nursing stool too!)

Great little stool for the money

I did not buy this for breastfeeding, but this is a fabulous little stool for easing pressure off my low back when I'm sitting. It is really a great value for the money, as I have not seen anything else out there this sturdy for as reasonable a price. It was very easy and quick to assemble. My only complaint so far is that that the knobs on each side that allow you to raise/lower it to different heights loosen up on their own all the time, so it will sometimes rattle a bit until you tighten them again. It sure beats the look of those plastic stools.

Why didn’t I get this three kids ago!?

While I question whoever named this company, this product is awesome. I’m three kids in, and I don’t know why I didn’t get this with my first. (Yes I do - because my back wasn’t bothering me then, I just let it get worse through two plus years of breastfeeding large children, instead of preventing it from getting bad in the first place...)I put it together myself in about 10 minutes, and that was with a crying infant beside me, so every minute felt long. Honestly, it could have been less. My third grader could have followed the directions. I think it took me longer to find a screw driver than to get it together! The wood is solid. You do need to have your hands free to adjust it, but that doesn’t seem like a big deal to me, once it’s set, it’s set. And, when I’m done using it for breastfeeding in a year or so, I will tilt it flat and have a great stool to use in my closet or...wherever. Highly recommend!!!

Works Well

This is going to sound like a long list of complaints, but I do like this step stool and would purchase it again.Assembly was a nightmare. The instructions and the step stool do not match up. It worked much better when I just threw the instructions away. It took 50 minutes to put this thing together. It should have taken 5.The width of the stool is slightly too narrow. When pregnant, I could only rest one foot on the stool. When nursing, I can get both feet on it now, but I still wish it were wider. It doesn’t adjust up and down easily. You have to completely unscrew both sides to adjust the angle of the top. Get it where you want it and leave it.One of my adjusting knobs came off the screw. I wasn’t even using the knob. I had the incline set and I left it alone, yet the knob somehow fell off. Not sure how I’ll adjust it now. I’m currently just leaving it at the current level and pretending it is fine.

Highly Recommend!

I love this stool!! Made nursing so much easier. Ergonomics is key when being a new mother and I often found I was having back pain and leg numbness when constantly sitting to nurse. I used the stool and my brest friend pillow....... AMAZING difference. Pain and numbness went away.It was really easy to put together, max 10 mins. Very sturdy. Even has anti-slip on the top so feet stay in place. Highly recommend!

Also works as a toilet stool

Unlike most other reviewers, I bought this to use as a toilet stool. It's made from solid wood and was easy to assemble, though I needed to adjust some pieces mid-way in order for everything to fit snugly, so I would recommend not tightening the screws all the way until you are satisfied with their placement. The sandpaper bugged me, since it already had wood shavings stuck in it out of the box, but I didn't want to remove the strips. Instead, I painted over them in acrylic (similar color, because I liked the contrast), then sealed the entire surface with water-resistant matte varnish. It works, and looks better than other toilet stools at the same price point. The mechanism for adjusting the height is pretty simple -- the knobs at the sides lock the height into one of 3 positions -- but it requires 2 hands. That's fine for me, as it will stay in one position all the time, but this might not be ideal for others. It only took me about an hr and a half to put it together, paint, and seal it myself on the same day it came in the mail, so don't be afraid to modify its appearance for your needs.

Great price and super sturdy

I love that this is made of all wood. Very well made and it looks beautiful. It is super easy and comfortable to use. Please be careful if your toddler stands on it though, it can flip to the side easily once the weight isn’t distributed evenly, which is expected. But if used for its intended purpose, it’s a great product.

Sturdy but not able to adjust to height needs

This stool is durable and easy to assemble. It works well for me in my usual seat in the living room when I need to feel comfortable for long periods of time when I nurse my baby. I find that when I go to other locations such as my relative's house where I use the love seat for feeding my baby, the stool height is not always appropriate. It would be nice to be able to adjust the height of the stool and not only the incline. As it stands, this product only lets you adjust the incline by adjusting a knob on the side of the stool. I tried to adjust the angle myself once as I held my baby in my lap but found that it is not very straight forward. Since then I have not adjusted the angle and often use it horizontal as that does the job for me.I am not bothered by the non-slip strips at the top of the stool but others have mentioned in other reviews that it is an issue for them. This product looks like it is made of a sturdy piece of material, nothing too fancy to have around the house. Looks like it could last for a long time though.

Wish I had bought it sooner!

I recently bought this, and can say after using for one feeding I wish I had bought it sooner! With this I an able to lean back in my nursing chair, and comfortably nurse, and rock my son. He's 11 months, and I've always struggled with having to push up with my leg in the chair to keep his head level. With this still I do not have to do that, and can recline while feeding him which helps my back immensely, and my ankles not hurt. It does creek a bit under my weight, but otherwise this is a great product, and I will use it in the future if I have anymore children.

STURDY - legitimate footstool

What you see is what you get. Amazingly sturdy footstool with very intentional and well locking adjustment points. The nonslip feet are also great. Build quality was fantastic, I wouldn't be surprised if this footstool could support 500+ pounds of force easily.Only reason for the -1 star is that the wood finish is very plain. A darker stain or paint of some sort could make it look a lot less utilitarian and modern. Not something that you'll be putting in view of guests if you care about design/style. However, if you're looking for a footstool that can survive a nuclear blast and stay put, this is what you need to buy.

Good quality

Overall, I'm happy with this stool. Putting it together was easy enough. The only hard part was getting the small screws in all the way, but my husband was able to do that. I didn't have the difficulties that some reviewers did with assembly. The stool itself is very sturdy and big enough for both my feet to comfortably rest on it. The non-slip sandpaper strips on the top do not hurt my feet.My only complaints are that it is a pain to adjust the height, and overall it is a bit high for me. I'm 5'5", and have tried it in a few different chairs of varying heights. If I rest my feet flat on it, my knees are up way too high such that it's uncomfortable and the baby would be at an angle tilted towards my body instead of flat/parallel to the floor. So I rest the sides of my feet on it, not the bottom.
