Small!?

I’m not sure how on earth these are considered “small” but they do seem well made and are very soft! I am excited to use them since I’ve heard so many good things about them not flaring up yeast infections terribly like cotton pads tend to.

Gamechanger for Raynaud's/vasospasms

This purchase falls in the "desperately searching Amazon for relief" category. I am not breastfeeding, but I do get vasospasms from Raynaud's during winter. I call these my "nipple sweaters." I didn't want to go through another winter with that kind of pain happening throughout the day, and saw reviews that suggested these to prevent vasospasms. After wearing them for a few hours, I'm wondering why all bras aren't lined with wool! I'm not sure this would work under every bra/blouse combo as I've only worn it at home with a lace bralette and unlined underwire bra under a sweatshirt, but they are soft and comfortable, and I'm warm but not overheated. It hasn't been itchy at all. No painful vasospasms, hallelujah! 🙌 For context, I am a 34HH and purchased medium (7") in the thinnest option and it fits very well.

Normal to shrink? XS Ekstra

The bottom pad is four months of use. The too is the brand new one. I had forgotten how big, light, and soft it is unused. Is it normal for it the shrink and become more dense after use? I'm a heavy leaker and have to wash it every few days with Outback Gold wool wash (I tried waiting a couple weeks but so much milk collects that I can never get the water to run clear).

Read the SIZES

I haven’t tried these nursing pads out yet but I’m basing it on other reviewers. HOWEVER, I made the mistake thinking a Medium could be for a DD bra size. NO. I’m reordering a small because these are HUGE and this basically gives me extra coverage than I need. Also READ THE TYPE OF MATERIAL.Will be updating my review once I actually do use them. But READ THE PHOTO ABOVE, gives better information.

Modesty covers for unlined bra

I purchased this product in both the 5" and the 3.5" diameter sizes for use as nipple covers under an unlined bra, rather than as nursing pads. I was looking for something more breathable than the silicon stick on covers generally used for the purpose. They stay in place and do provide the desired modesty. They are also relatively breathable, but do still make the bra hotter than going without. I had thought that I would prefer the smaller size since of course it takes up less space in the bra and would presumably also be less hot. However, I found that the smaller size has a prominent visible outline visible through T-shirts, The larger size wraps farther around the breast and doesn't show is much. Therefore, I actually like the larger one better. Be aware that either size does take up some space in your bra, with the larger one taking up more than the small for obvious reasons. Because of this, I can't use it with my bras that run on the smaller side. With them, the silicon covers work better.

My absolute favorite nursing pads from a mom of 3

These wool pads are life changing. They are so comfortable, so warm, you don't have to change them as often as disposable or cotton pads, they significantly cut down the time I had to suffer with clogged ducts (I still get them occasionally but they go away within a day instead of three or four days). Also if you have an issue and contact LANAcare, they have the absolute best customer service. Just remember to wash them in warm water. I washed them in cold and my original batch of pads shrunk a bit. I love wool!

The best

Completely underrated product. Every nursing mother should own a pair! (Even in warm weather, these are so comfortable)

Great for hiking!

I am an avid hiker and a big fan of anything wool. Problem is, all of my bras, including the wool one and the supposedly high performing, moisture wicking, whatever bras have polyester-kind paddings, rendering all the "moisture wicking" features useless.I just finished an overnight hike where the temperature during the day rose to over 100 degrees. These guys did great, no more sweat running down between my girls. They dried quickly and no smell at all. They feel super warm, so I had my qualms, but they were just perfect.Since they are made for breastfeeding, they are naturally larger. I bought the 6 inches, and while they fit perfectly into my Under Armour bra they are a bit large for my Icebreaker one so potentially the 5 inches would have been sufficient for my purpose.

Expensive but worth it!

So happy I bought these. My LC recommended these because I was dealing with vasopasms months into breastfeeding. Keeping my nipples warm between feeds helped everything heal faster and feel better!

Fantastic for modesty pads.

Love these. I use them for modesty. Make sure you follow washing instructions! Machine washing turns them to felt. Very breathable, temperature regulating and supremely comfortable.

Game changer

After suffering from all of the breastfeeding ailments in the first 6 weeks (mastitis, blebs, recurrent clogs, vasospasms, blisters, poor latch…), these have helped me turn a corner. Vasospasms were causing significant pain and were my main lingering issue. My midwife suggested I get wool pads before we try medication. I didn’t think they’d do much, but have been so impressed with the relief they provide. The pads are huge, but I think they need to be so that they cover a large portion of the breast to provide warmth. I almost wish I sized up so that they cover the whole thing. At night, I still need to put a fleece blanket over my chest for extra warmth. At this point, I’ve only been using them for insulation since I don’t leak much, so I can’t say much about how they were for leaking. If you get vasospasms, I wouldn’t hesitate to try these.

Very warm, but not absorbent for heavy flow

I bought them because I experienced nipple pain from bad blood circulation and they really helped! They are soo warm which is really nice in the winter. They are absolutely not leak proof especially if you're a heavy producer like I am, but I just layer another cotton pad that holds the milk and is waterproof on the other side to avoid leaks. also it's crazy but they actually don't smell bad even after the milk dries!! Once they get hard from all the dried (but somehow not stinky) milk I rince and dry them on top of the dryer when it's running.

Great absorbency

These breast pads are definitely the most absorbent I have ever come across. They are also so soft and extremely comfortable to wear in your bra. One issue I came across was having some fibers left on my nipples when I went to feed. Also I accidentally put my first pair in the dryer and ruined them (but that was my fault for not checking my dirty laundry well enough).

These are the best

I love these breast pads. They are easy to use and clean. They don’t irritate the breasts and are very soft. Easy to clean, just be sure to purchase a wool washing soap!

Simple and does what’s needed

I used these pads during my time breastfeeding. They prevented leakage and felt great. I had no issues with infections or anything during breastfeeding. Right size for me and I didn’t fix them to bra so sometimes would slide a little but generally stayed in place.

So comfy

I bought this because I kept getting clogs and my sore nipples were uncomfortable with disposable pads. I was surprised by the size, but once you wear it, it's heaven. My sore nipples were so comfy in these pads, clogs disappeared, so I ordered another pair.Wish these were sold in a 3 pairs pack at a better price.

Nursing pads

Love these pads. Comfort, thickness and just good coverage for nursing moms. Would not recommend for heavy heavy leakers though. I love that these are washable, but definitely need an extra set just in case you leak a lot.

Great reusable pads

These were great to have when my supply was still regulating itself. They are soft and warm and I only had to wash them with wool wash once every couple of weeks. In my experience, what I read about wool pads proved true. I wore wool pads from the moment my milk came in and did not have dry or cracked nipples and only had one incident of a plugged milk duct. Could be coincidence, or could be that wool is really that helpful when breastfeeding! I tried both the regular and extra thick pads and the regular were best for me (I would wake up sweating when wearing the thicker ones). I’m a size 36b and the 6in diameter worked well for me. I also liked having 2 pairs so that while one pair was being washed/air dried, I had another to wear. The air dry can take a while since they aren’t recommended to dry in direct sunlight. All in all I’m happy I went with this reusable natural fiber option!

Softest absorbent pads

I love these nursing pads. They are the first ones I bought to catch early pregnancy leaking and they have remained soft, clean, and help so much to not leak through my clothes without adding too much bulk. The wool keeps me dry feeling and not too hot as a person who runs very hot.

so soft and comforting

They work! Worth it!

Absolutely love these!!! I have had an over supply since baby was born, and wore these since almost day 1 for the first 5 months. They keep you dry, clean, and warm.I got a little too comfortable and stopped wearing them for a week, and immediately got mastitis.I really think these pads had helped me not get it all those months beforehand.Highly recommend!

Best breast pads ever!

These are definitely worth the money. They absorb so much and are really comfortable to wear. I got 2 pairs, which is all I need because they dry pretty quickly after washing them. They also help keep my nipples warm, which is something I learned I needed to do because I have Reynaud’s syndrome in them.

will likely be itchy for some / sensory issues

Honestly I REALLY wanted to love these! I don't have a wool allergy, but I have some sensory issues with certain fabrics. I can typically wear cashmere and soft merino wool sweaters, but sadly these felt itchy to me :( I'm so sad to return them!

So so soft

Extremely soft. I use these with all my nursing & pumping bras. Purchased 2 weeks postpartum and wished I'd gotten it sooner. The package comes with detailed instructions on how to clean and reuse. I go to these much more often than my bamboo, one-use, and other options.

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose?

Small fits most.

Can I reuse?

Yes washable

Do I need a special soap to wash them?

Yes. Air the pads between washes. When they need a wash, hand-wash gently in lukewarm water using LANACare's lanolin-replenishing soap, then lay flat to dry. Avoid hot water, regular detergent, and the dryer. All three damage merino fibers and shorten the lifespan.

Do they leak?

Depends on flow choose size accordingly.

How to wash?

Use lanolin soap.
