This pillow is ideal for breastfeeding mommas. It has back support and some wrist support with extra humps in the front part where baby lays. Makes it much easier to feed baby with these. The sleeve is has is also washable & it's comfortable to wear. Bought this day 2 postpartum and wish that I put it on my registry or bought a bit sooner. It's 10/10 good.
The material is perfect it’s exactly the way it looks in the picture. It’s very simple to use and comfortable. I struggled to use it for breastfeeding but I still use it for everything except its actual purpose lol. It’s perfect for supportive sitting and encouraging self feeding or false arms when sleeping. My baby loves her breast feeding pillow she uses it all the time especially to assist her standing up in the crib.
I asked the nurses in the hospital of I should go with this or Boppy. I was advised that this one is better for newborns so they don't slide down and is more secure. (I did end up getting one of each). If you can only choose one- I'd definitely get the my brestfriend. For a couple of weeks my newborn would only nurse if I walked around, I was recovering from a c-section so this pillow helped there because it once strapped tightly it could help bear a little weight so it wasn't all on me (I did make sure to still hold my baby myself so I wouldn't trust that it could bear all weight). I don't know if the raised spots on this one is standard but on either end there is a raised circle like where the baby's head would rest and when I was having to multi-task like eating while nursing, those spots seemed to help support my baby's head in a way to make it more level while nursing so I didn't have to use my hand. The pocket on the side was nice for his pacifier, nipple cream, and other misc items I may need on a whim while nursing. Many people said they didn't understand the pocket's purpose, but that's what I used it for and found it was handy. My baby is now 2 months old and I still use this nightly during the nighttime feeds. It helps me feel more secure when nursing while groggy. As you can see in the photo- my husband also found it helpful when he wanted to game while giving me a break. Haha Very easy to use! Cover is easy to remove and wash! I'm really lazy and literally don't hang dry anything like everyone advises- it did not shrink in the dryer- the clip did make a bit of a ruckus.Get a waterproof cover to go on the pillow directly as it is not waterproof. May sound silly but I didn't not realize this until once it was covered in pee, spit up and milk (we were having a rough day) lolI did love this Lily of the valley pattern, and it was also the lowest cost!
As a first time mom, this makes breastfeeding a lot more convenient! I originally bought the boppy but a coworker suggested this and when I visited a lactation consultant this is also what they use! I love this product, if I leave the house this goes everywhere with me. Breastfeeding is tough, but with the proper tools you’ll be more likely to stick with it which is great for baby. It provides great support, all you need is a little step stool for you feet and your in breastfeeding heaven. Since it wraps around you you don’t have to worry about the product moving around when you already may have a fussy baby. The pocket is comes with is a plus for water or chapstick or burp cloths. I also bought the silicone waterproof cover for easy cleaning vs the cloth that absorbs milk spilled by leaky breasts.
I NEVER write reviews but this thing is too good not to share. I just bought another one a week later for a friend who is expecting and planning to BF.I was using the boppy and it was too heavy, didn't have any good place to grab it, and was constantly needing readjustment. This pillow stays in place. I can use it to nurse while walking around if I need to. It is sturdy enough for my daughter to stand on and light enough that I can grab the strap with a free finger and keep moving. It has a pocket which I love! Especially if I am relocating or take it with me for long trips, ect. Bug enough for a large cellphone, snack bar, water bottle, ect. The fabric is super easy to keep clean. And we are even able to do some tummy time on it. A must have for breastfeeding. I miss it when we are out and it is at home!
I was using the Boppy pillow before this but the ends were way too flat and small to support my arms and be comfortable. I tried putting extra pillows underneath it, using regular pillows on their own, using folded blankets with pillows… nothing really worked well though and it was getting really frustrating. I’ve had the Brest Friend pillow for a few days now and it’s been the BEST. The thickness is just right for me, the material and cover is soft enough but easy to clean, and I like that I can easily turn it to one side or the other if needed. I was a little hesitant about having to strap into something but the back padding is supportive enough while not being too thick or annoying, and I can’t even really tell the actual strap is there. I also like that it comes with a small pocket on the front. 10/10 would recommend!
From a functionality standpoint, I will likely prefer this to a Boppy (haven’t actually used it yet but have used a Boppy). It’s very supportive and firm and fits around me nicely. But the cover that it comes with is made from cheap material. I washed it once and the navy color faded to an old denim jeans color — see photos for what it looks like (it now looks dingy and old). The inside fabric shredded into pieces that got all over the inside of the washer, but the outside is fine. The cover is also a bit difficult to put back on since the inside is purely foam (there is no fabric cover on the inside like the boppy) and the fabric sticks on the foam. If you purchase, I’d recommend a lighter color fabric that won’t fade so badly.
UPDATE:It is very stiff material for baby to lay on, which is GREAT! She stays exactly in place. I don't use the "humps" for her head, they are far too unnoticeable and short for her head to be breast level. The "wraparound" feature is useless to me as I sit while breastfeeding - it is actually a nuisance. The pocket has a tight top and is very deep, so you'll have to "fish" out whatever you put in there, if it's not taller than the pocket. I also never use the clip as I just use it while sitting, so it is also in the way. I wish it were able to flip upside down to use for either side instead of having one side open so you have to slip it on from one way everytime... Besides these issues, the stiff and sturdy material is great for holding baby and she falls asleep every time - it is comfy and nice to rest arms on while feeding too. I also used the plastic it came in under the fabric and while it's noisy to carry and put on, once baby is on, she doesn't move so it doesn't affect her or the comfort at all [all while protecting the foam underneath!]Haven't tried it with baby yet, this is based solely on product.Decent quality covering, like a linen tshirt. The foam insert is stiff and durable, however, upon unzipping the covering, it snagged on the foam ever so slightly and tore a teeny piece off....The pocket is huge and the cinch at the top is nice and tight.I took the advice of another poster and used the plastic wrap in came in to go under the cloth and act as a waterproofer...it is noisy, so we will see how baby deals with it.The only negative thing is that the info packet it came with advertised a velcro strap, but it didn't come with one...after reading, I didn't know this feature existed but found myself missing it after finding out what could have been.Definitely not a pillow like a Boppy. Way more sturdy, with lumbar support, pocket, and stays up while standing (though I wouldn't try that with baby on it!].
I really do love this nursing pillow. There's a lot to like about it.Pros:* I love that I can clip it around my waist, and then move around, without needing to awkwardly put it back on while while holding my baby.* It's adjustable* Comfortable* Very cute patterns* Great Design* The pocket it really handy* I mean, the name, who doesn't love it?Cons:* My baby grew very fast, he was very tall, so he was hanging his legs off the sides by the time he was 6 months old.* It is just a little pricey, but not too bad.All things considered, I love this pillow, and I'll be using it for our daughter when she gets here in November!:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::I hope you found this information useful. My favorite nursing pillow
Sturdy yet also somehow feels cheap? I do like that it buckles around you but you have to be careful that baby doesn’t roll off because it’s firm.
This is a nice alternative to the more expensive styles by them. The outer cover is easy to remove and clean. The more it’s washed, it gets a bit harder to put back on, but still manageable. The sponge isn’t quite as easy to clean though if you also have an accidental blow out while feeding.
Could not recommend this enough!! Do away with the boppy and get one of these, seriously a life changer!!!
Great design to support baby at proper height for breastfeeding. Easy to use and good quality.
100% buy it just got it today, Doing this review for my wife because I watched her struggle every day and night not being able to get comfortable feeding our baby this is a win 🏆
A bit stiff tbh but did the job
So glad I got this! Much better than the boppy in so many ways.
Best product for breastfed or formula feeding. The extra support is very helpful
This pillow is amazing for breastfeeding. My daughter was 9lbs at birth as this design allows my daughter to lay flat right in front of me, without having to hold her whole weight with my arms. It’s the only pillow that has worked well for us. I also love that it’s good quality and feels like it will hold up long term.
great for carpal tunnal moms. made breast feeding pain free
Wish it was thicker, still have to put a small pillow under to get baby up high enough to reach my nipple
As described
Great quality and helps so much with feedings
I bought it because a regular half donut pillow didn’t work for me. The baby kept falling through it and was unstable. This product keeps the baby more leveled and stable. The cover is a bit slippery but easy to take off and wash. It would be nice to have a spare cover but I don’t see the option to buy it. Also, it is easy to move with it on and a baby. The only concern is that the baby outgrows it fast.
Back saver! Best breastfeeding pillow I used and easy to put on with one arm when you are holding your baby with the other.
