Before anything else: this pillow is firm and flat. It is not a soft crescent you sink into. My Brest Friend calls it a firm, flat design for airway safety, and that is the honest reason for it. A flat surface keeps baby's head level with her body and holds her at breast height so your back and arms can rest. The Deluxe gives you the same firm core and the same 6 in backrest as the Super Deluxe, in a plush cover, with the easiest strap to work one-handed. For most mothers this is the sweet spot of the range.
